i stepped out
in the light
life was good once
when i was small -
life has changed
people changed alot more
life is hard
when you have people
holding you down -
you move to your beat
they change the beat
they blame you -
life is full of good
you want just a peice
small is good
why settle when you can have a big peice -
others point
you feel bad
you took more
yet others lack
"why is that so bad?"
you ask -
they don't
you get questioned
they expect to be
defended by who?
not you!
they complain
they claim you argue
you voice
you do have feelings -
why the extreme?
because you can
even if they think they can't -
you should not feel bad
that they can't -
they may like where they are
you should take the exit -
anytime you want
you deserve to follow the yellow brick road
as they stay in
what they know -
progress is what you want
life is dull -
you have gifts
you can share
why stay where you are
others want to share
you see nothing in return
why not move ahead?
to redeem what you deserve
while others stay
take what they can
taking the high road
sharp right
crossroads ahead
you know the speed
yet others expect faster -
results are in
yet not as fast as they want to see
they wanted it yesterday -
it takes time for quality
why spit shine?
polished the right way
looks better all the way around -
you want more respect from others
where you are at?
today you don't see it
you hear from others
respect everyday -
jealousy sets in
you want it
you deserve it
others may not
but u don't care
respect is one of many -
you need it all
where you are today
you won't get it
moving on you will
moving on what a thought
like a gift in front of you
packaged the way you like -
opening it now you can't
you must wait
something inside
may be there or not
no one else knows
but the guy inside
he would know -
you have to wait to see
as you may get what you want
fingers are crossed
others laugh
why you?
that gift you must be
something they think
you should be -
who are they to judge
you deserve
what is nicely packaged -
you worked hard
invested you life
ignored so much
payment is just ahead -
two choices ahead
what is better
you are having to wait
to see what is there
people think less
of you
why is that?
you are smart
you work just as hard as they do
yet they act better
as if you act worse -
hours are spent by others
doing so much less than you
chatting via email
cell phones are the worst
ringing in the ears
you know who is calling -
everyone needs to know
the louder the sound -
lose the connections
others can do work -
connections can work against you
as they stop you from what is needed -
people complain about you
others are just as bad
finger pointing is root of evil
no accountability is taken -
blaming is not an asset
cover up your mistake
as you point out others -
shows immaturity
lack of ethics
why shove someone in front of the train
just to railroad them
you walk not in a line
you weave in and out
you are not perfect
but blame others
as you sit guilty -
what goes around
when you cause it
will come around
because of you -
watch what you do and say
avoid others as they don't care -
trouble makers are the source
causing issues for everyone
tattle tales never run they hide
deers in front of headlights
who me?
why would you think that
I wouldn't do that to you -
backstabbers are mean and guilty as charged
even if they act like your friend -
they act buddy to you
they talk about you
you walk in with a knife in your back
they twist it causing you to defend
who you are
they lie
not to you but to those
that cause your life
to change -
they sit like a mouse in the corner
waiting to see if you got trapped
because they are the rats
that caused you so much
thanks to them
cheese won't be the same -
they stand above you
they treat you small
you are bigger than them
they can't stand a chance -
they can only lie
cause trouble
who to believe
lies are easy to hear
truth is hard to bare
depending on who is saying it
it isn't you -
the truth is not the way
you know it
the way they say it is a lie -
you defend yourself
at a point you look bad
defending isn't right
when you are not wrong
others cause misery
for free entertainment -
seeing others in trouble
the insane sits
with chips and dip
and gossip to others
as you play smart -
you can't lose
while others sit and try
to win
you play by rules
the others cheat -
anything to cause you
problems again
free entertainment
you will play me in this
act not me
as i am not guilty
accountability is how i live
others live with fear
as they have to be avoided
as they blame others
as their work goes undone
your work is done
i's dotted and t's crossed
they erase what they can
so you look like you are careless
they can laugh
with others
at ur own expense
again cheap entertainment
for them and not for u -
as you walk in ur shoes every day
you are careful not to step on the cracks
so that u don't fall on ur ass
even though others know how to act like one -
life is full of hardships
no one can tell u different
u work hard others play
why do they hurt u
even when u
are working harder than them -
sad for them
because of them
your life may change
yet they will act
better than u
even though it has nothing
to do with them -
